The writing tutors offer one-on-one writing help to currently-enrolled Wellesley College students. Tutors will advise students on assignments from courses in any academic discipline, as well as on application essays for fellowships or graduate or professional school. Students may expect writing tutors to help them:
* brainstorm and choose a topic
* refine an argument
* organize ideas and information
* use and cite sources properly
* write with more clarity and accuracy.
Note that writing tutors will not simply proofread papers for students. Students should be prepared to be active participants in the process of discussing and improving their written work.
Tutoring is free and confidential. Appointments are not required, but they are strongly recommended.
Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled tutorial will have their appointment cancelled so that the time may be made available to another student.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Anne Brubaker, Lecturer in the Writing Program and Coordinator of the Writing Tutors, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
